This text is a commentary of one of Lacan's youth article, in which he isolates the paranoia as a “precocious fixation of a structure”. He thereby opposes his views to classical descriptions of paranoia that include associated pathologies, like paranoid states for example. Moreover, by studying the “purely phenomenological notion of confusional states’ structure” in order to criticize the notion of “character” in the paranoia, we show how he very early requires the notion of structure, which will play a predominant role in his works.
