سندرم آسپرگر یا اختلال آسپرگر نوعی اختلال زیستی- عصبی است که با تاخیر در انجام مهارت‌های حرکتی تظاهر می‌یابد. اولین بار در سال ۱۹۴۴ دکتر اتریشی به نام هانس آسپرگر با انتشار مقاله‌ای آن را توصیف کرد. این اختلال شکل خفیف اختلال اوتیسم(در خود ماندگی)است. این اختلال از سنین کودکی به وجود می آید و اگر زود درمان نشود، در تمام طول عمر فرد، پیامدهای منفی خود را به جای می گذارد. در اختلال آسپرگر، فرد از برقراری ارتباط اجتماعی و داد و ستد با دیگران، ناتوان شده و به گونه ای نامتعارف، منزوی و گوشه گیر می شود. شخص مبتلا از حیث سایر کارکردهای روانی و شناختی، سالم است اما از نظر عاطفی، سرد بوده و از تعامل با دیگران ناتوان می باشد. به طور معمول این اختلال در بین مردان، شایع تر از زنان است و درمان آن، در سنین اولیه ی کودکی امکان پذیر است و بیش تر از طریق رفتار درمانی مقدور است.
