Mazet L’Aubier, Psychiatric infanto-juvenile, EPS Erasme Antony, France Departement de Psychopathologic, Universite Paris Nord The aim of the study is to show that maternal depression can be seperated in two different symptomatic types and that mother infant affective interaction and attachment will differ according to these types. Method : 54 mothers and infants from urban Parisian area participated in the study. There were 29 depressed mothers and 25 non-depressed mothers included in the sample. Mothers under 18 years of age and those suffering from chronic psychiatric pathology were excluded. Were also excluded twins (and other multiple births), infants born prematurely, sick infants, and those with congenital disorders.
