یادگیری اجتماعی، فرآیندی است که طی آن، رفتارها -خوب و بد، بهنجار و نابهنجار- آموخته می‌شوند.پس از دوران کودکی، از طریق ارتباط اجتماعی با والدین، رسوم، آداب فرهنگی و رفتارهای قابل قبول، جامعه‌پذیر می‌شویم. همچنین انواع هیجانات چون ترس‌ها و حب و بغض‌ها را نسبت به افراد و ارزش‌ها و نهادها و امور اجتماعی و شخصی در جامعه می‌آموزیم. این فرآیند، عبارت است از یادگیری اجتماعی. نظریات یادگیری اجتماعی به سه دسته: شرطی سازی کلاسیک، شرطی سازی کنشی و نظریه یادگیری اجتماعی-شناختی قابل تقسیم است. ظریه یادگیری اجتماعی که توسط آلبرت بندورا ارائه شد، احتمالاً تاثیرگذارترین نظریه یادگیری و رشد بوده است.
