آشنایی با موضوع
تصویر سازی یک مهارت روانی است که در آن تصاویر ذهنی مثبت و آشکاری در مغز ایجاد و یا باز سازی می شود . تصویر سازی یعنی اندیشیدن به یک موضوع خاص. در واقع وقتی به چیزی فکر میکنیم داریم تصویری از آن را در ذهن می سازیم و درک مفهوم بدون تصویر ذهنی از آن مفهوم صورت نمی گیرد. تصویر سازی ذهنی یعنی متمرکز کردن انرژی فکر روی موضوعی ویژه با هدفی خاص؛ استفاده از تمام حواس برای خلق یا بازآفرینی یک تجربه درذهن و دیدن چنین تصویری با چشم ذهن.
نکته بسیار مهمی که باید دانست این است که تصویرسازی ذهنی براساس خلاقیت است و نه براساس هوش. اگر چه ممکن است تمام افراد بشر با هوش نباشنند ولی همگی خلاق هستند . بنابراین این روش برای تمام افراد و تمام سنین موثر است و کاربرد دارد .شاید بتوان این تعریف را بعنوان ساده ترین بیان در مورد تصویرسازی ذهنی ارایه داد: دیدن چیزی با چشم ذهن.
تصویر چشمی حاصل حس بینایی است و خطای باصره به این معنی است که گاهی نمی بینیم و یا اشتباه می بینیم. پس چشم خطا می کند و دیدن بدون دقت دلیل این خطا است.ولی چشم ذهن بسیار دقیق است و هرگز خطا نمی کند
یادگیری یک مفهوم با چشم سر وقت گیر و نیاز به تکرار زیاد دارد ولی با چشم ذهن می توان یک مفهوم را در یک ثانیه به حافظه بلند مدت فرستاد.
چشم سر محدود است یعنی ما تنها در صورتی که شیئ پیش چشم ما حضور داشته باشد می توانیم ببینیم ولی با چشم ذهن می توانیم شیئی را مشاهده کنیم که واقعیت خارجی ندارد و بالاتر اینکه می توانیم چنین شیئی را ابداع و به بازار عرضه کنیم.
چشم سر تنها می تواند مشخصات و مختصات موجود و واقعی یک شیئ را نشان دهد ولی چشم ذهن می تواند دهها ویژگی دیگر رابرای آن شئ خلق کند (مثلا می تواند رنگ و عطر و طعم و بو به چیزی بیافزاید در حالی که آن چیز در عالم واقع اصلا دارای چنین ویژگیهایی نیست.
تصویر چشمی با حواس پرتی همراه است ولی تصویر ذهنی تمرکز، خنده و شادی ، اعتماد به نفس و ابداع و اختراع می آورد. تصویرسازی ذهنی موجب ضخیم شدن قشر مخ می شود و این امر از فراموشی و آلزایمر جلوگیری می کند.
مهمترین دلیل بر برتری تصویر ذهنی این است که امکان ندارد کسی بگوید : قیافه شما را فراموش کرده ام ولی اسمتان یادم هست! در عصر ارتباطات و اطلاعات که ما بمباران تصویری می شویم ذهن تنبل شده و از مطالعه فرار می کنیم و از اندیشیدن می ترسیم. فعال کردن چشم ذهن می تواند راهی باشد برای حل این مشکل.
از جمله امتیازات منحصر بفرد آن این است که در هنگام تصویر سازی، ذهن ما از آینده و گذشته جدا شده ودر زمان حال قرار می گیریم و همین امر موجب می شود از بند غم و غصه و ترس و استرس رها شده و در حالت کاملا relax قرار بگیریم چرا که در این حالت فرکانسهای مغزی ما کند شده و به سطح آلفا (حالت بین خواب و بیداری ) بر می گردد.
